Thank you for your responses, and thank you for the many kind comments regarding the book. This addendum is pre-punched so that you can take it to a local print shop and have it inserted into the existing binding. Lannie Dietle Oct. 28, 1996
Correction to the Introduction500: Lannie Dietle's residence telephone number has changed to 281-240-2120.
Chapter 1 page 6 correction500: "We know the name of Adam Diettle's wife's name was Mary Ann from her tombstone." should have been "We know the name of Adam Diettle's wife was Mary Ann from her tombstone."

Chapter 3 addition500: The photos of people in Chapter 3 are from a descendant of Nicholas and Mary Dieddle who wishes to remain anonymous. Other photos in Chapter 3 are from Roy Dietle, our father.
Chapter 3 page 2 addition502: The wife of John Henry Dietle, (son of Nicholas) was Amanda Elizabeth Miller, the daughter of John W. and Amanda (Shuck) Miller. John and Lizzie had two children, a boy who died as an infant, and Crawford, who died at the age of 15 years. Since Crawford was 7 in the 1910 census, he would have died around 1918, and therefore it is a plausible guess that Crawford might have died in the 1918 flu epidemic.
Chapter 3 page 5 addition500: The Chapter 3 page 5 photo caption was taken from the back of the photo. We are not certain if Frank was known as Frank Deitle or Frank Wagner.
Chapter 3 page 5 correction507: The middle name of James Deitle, Sr. is Edward, not Elmer.
Chapter 3 page 12 addition503: Roy Deitle used a bow and arrow to harvest a 6 point buck in 1996.

Chapter 3 page 15 correction507: The maiden name of James Deitle's wife was spelled Crouse, not Krouse.
Chapter 3 page 15 correction507: The middle name of James Deitle, Jr. is Edward, not Elmer. Chapter 3 page 15 correction507: The name Bouger is incorrectly spelled; it should have been spelled "Brougher".

Chapter 5 page 12 addition500: The photo on page 12 is from a descendant of Nicholas and Mary Dieddle who wishes to remain anonymous. We have two reasons to believe that the photo is of William, Jr. rather than William, Sr. First of all, William, Sr. was known as "Will", not "Billy", at least as far as we know. Secondly, the similar clothing style between the photo of Ephriam (page 7) and Billy (page 12) suggests that the photos might have been taken close to one another in time, and the men appear to be close to the same age, which suggests siblings, not father and son.

Chapter 7 page 5 addition501: Chapter 5 states that Karl Dietle was not listed as a survivor in his mother's obituary. When our father was visiting my home on April 2 1996, he indicated that he thought Karl was alive and living in NJ. I was able to find Karl Dietle's Riverton, NJ phone number that day, so I called and talked to his wife, who indicated that Karl was indeed alive.
Chapter 7 page 9 correction500: The sentence "Both Sylvester and Betty were living at Meyersdale RD #4 at the time of her death." is incorrect because Sylvester preceded Betty in death.

Her pictures were used in Chapter 8 and 9, and possibly elsewhere. It is now too late to be absolutely certain which pictures came from her, but if memory serves, in Chapter 8 she provided the pictures for page 1, 7 and 9, and in Chapter 9, the pictures for page 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and the top of page 10.
